Broome - Wyndham 29th July 2009

Walking into Windjana Gorge - WA

HOT VERY VERY VERY HOT
We are in The Kimberley area of WA and it is HOT. I know it is cold down South but the past week has been 35C plus each day.

We have covered the area from Broome to Kununurra in about 3 weeks taking our time, enjoying the environment, the weather and here the water. Yes water. They want us to water the garden, wash the car and van and to play is the sprinklers. I can remember when that last happened.

Tunnel Creek - WA

The trip has been going very well. We have started back at school this week which takes time to get used to again after 3 weeks school holidays! We have done Broome, Derby,Fitzroy Crossing, Halls Creek, The Bungle Bungles and Kununurra then onto Wyndham.

We spent a week in Kununurra - doing repairs on the van and caravan

Lake Argyle and The Ord River near Kununurra

- new rear window in the Landcruiser after a stone rebounded off the front of the van up to the window,

OH Dear.!

- repairs to the fridge in the caravan after the very rough road to Windjana Gorge and Tunnel creek

- the door of the fridge also fell off and the microwave door opened up and the glass tray fell out (didnt break though)

- and the oven moved so much that it snapped the bolts that held it in so that had to be repaired also by Kym!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

None of it too serious but all stuff that had to be done. We know where most of the tradesman in town are now anyway!!!

Poor Taine - he sleeps very soundly and Riley and DArcy do terrible things to him!

We then headed north to Wyndham for a night - stayed 4! That is the luxury of time i guess. There isnt a lot here but it is an ok affordable park and we have visited most of the sights in the area. They other places to go all need a boat.

As you can tell we are seeing and experiencing so much. Six months has passed so very quickly and there is still so much we want to see. The kids are great although a little homesick at times for friends and family which is understandable.
Love to you all.
