PERTH Febrary 20th - March 18th

After six weeks of fun on the road it was time for Kym to do some work, follow up on our house in Adelaide as well as check up on his mum and Grandpa and for the kids and i to catch up with school as well as spend time with my sister Sheridan and her family who recently transfered to Perth for work and just last week moved into their new home.

Our Shady site - Woodmans Point Caravan Park

With only two days to get organised, we booked ourselves into a park at Woodmans Point (near Fremantle), put up all our shades and awnings, tv and computers and we were set for the next three weeks. Kym flew out to Brisbane, followed by a week in Adelaide, a day back with us before heading off again to do some work in regional Western Australia.

The kids and i had a plan to spend plenty of time with the family , which also includes my Aunty and Uncle and cousins who have been here for over thirty years as well as doing school work, online lessons, school excursions and sight seeing.

Through the Open Access College the kids are able to do online lessons three times a week for 30 minutes with their teachers and class mates. It is amazing technology and very much like Skype and they have an interactive whiteboard on the screen so that they can write and draw, the teacher can display work, information or as is the case in Taines class, a story book. They have a headset with microphone and earphones so that they can hear the other kids as well as the teacher and the teacher also has control of the webcamera.

We made a decision to do about 4 hours per day of school each day then to head off on an 'excursion' on Fridays.

We have had a fantastic three weeks in Perth with perfect weather, great fun spending time with the family and seeing some of the sites of Perth. The kids have really enjoyed the excursions and worked hard on their school work to have the day off. We also had a quick visit from my brother Derek and his daughter Ella and we spent a fun filled day at Adventure World - swimming, going on super slides and on the scary rides. Like me Derek loves the thrill of the rides and also like me must be there at opening time and there at closing time too! The kids were great and had a fun day together. DArcy too is turning into a thrill seeker and went on all the adult scary rides too and is very proud of himself! Kym has worked very hard over the three weeks he was away but has got alot done and although we are in the middle of this difficult economic time, continues to be busy with work. I think he is ready for a bit of a break so we are happily again on the road, heading back down south to Albany seeing as much of the South West as we can before catching up with all the family again at Easter time in Augusta.
Love to you all. We are all missing our family and friends but hope that our blog keeps your interested and a part of trip.
